Welcome to Mrs. Holsombake's high-achieving 2nd grade class! My name is Leah Holsombake. I am a born and raised Panama City girl. Following high school graduation from Mosley High School, I attended Harding University and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. I began my career in 2007 and have teaching experience in both 2nd and 4th grades.
I became a teacher because I desired to positively impact children and instill a strong educational foundation that carries them far in life. These desires still hold true today and I aim to accomplish them each school year. I am also a big believer in helping to mold children into people of strong character.
It is my belief that each child has something special to offer to our class. In our class, we participate in cooperative learning. I believe that students can learn from each other as much as they do from the teacher. I also teach my students to become independent learners, thinkers, and leaders throughout the school year.
I expect my students to obey our classroom rules and the school rules at all times. It is my belief that a structured classroom allows for maximum student learning. High Expectations=High Achievement!
The biggest factor to your child’s growth will be the home-school connection. Parental involvement is the key to making this a successful school year. Our collaboration in your child’s education will provide one of the keys needed for your child to succeed. Please do not hesitate to speak to me regarding any questions or concerns that you may have. The easiest way to contact me is through email or a note in your child’s folder or planner.
Please check my classroom website often for announcements, important news, and updated information.
I look forward to working with you to ensure your child has a fantastic 2nd grade experience!
