Electronics Policy - High Priority, please read

The testing season is upon us, so we wanted to make sure all parents are aware of our Electronics Policy. Students are allowed to have electronics at school but the device MUST BE TURNED OFF and must remain in backpacks. Students may not use electronics on school grounds without permission from an employee of the school. Any need to contact parents can always be achieved through the office or with a teacher’s assistance. Electronic devices include, but are not limited to, cell phones, tablets, smart watches, and ipads.  Below is the Electronics Policy from the student handbook. The elementary school doesn’t have a bell system so the policy for elementary school is as stated  above, Students are allowed to have electronics at school but the devise MUST BE TURNED OFF and must remain in backpacks. Students may not use electronics on school grounds without permission from an employee of the school. This policy goes into effect when the students arrive in the morning and is in effect until they leave in the afternoon.

Electronics

Students may not use any electronic devices, with the exception of devices approved by the school, after the tardy bell rings at the beginning of the school day until the dismissal bell rings at the end of school day or while under the supervision of faculty and/or staff. Students may not use said devices while engaged in any academic, club or athletic activity without permission of the faculty or staff member in charge. Cellular Telephone Policy Effective 8.01.09 Students shall not use any cellular telephones during school hours or while on approved school trips (except for times when the students are in a theme park, on the bus or in the hotel or as otherwise allowed by the administration). Any student may bring cellular telephones onto school property; however, cellular telephones shall be kept in the student’s locker or in an area designated by school officials for the storage of cellular telephones during school hours. Cellular telephones must be kept in an “off” mode during school hours. Any student who chooses to bring a cellular telephone to school shall do so at his or her own risk. School personnel shall not be responsible for damage, loss or theft of a student’s cellular telephone while on school property. Violations of this policy will result in confiscation of the cellular telephone by school officials. Any confiscated cellular telephone will only be returned to the violating student’s parent/guardian at the end of the school day and after a return of property form is signed by the student’s parent/guardian. Repeated violations of this policy may result in other disciplinary actions, including but not limited to In School Suspension, or Out of School Suspension. Students may not possess any other type of electronic device at any time. These items shall be subject to the rules of confiscation. The school shall not be responsible for any damage, theft or loss of any electronic device brought to the school property or at any school related function. The school shall not engage in any investigation for the return of lost or stolen items. 

 

The Safety Patrol Team A is on duty this week.




VOLUNTEER TIME CHANGE

 

There has been a change with the volunteer schedule for FSA hall monitors. From this point forward volunteers are needed from 8:00am-9:45am. You will check in with Mrs. Chapman at 7:45am. 



Food Service

Parents, all lunch accounts must be cleared of any charges by Friday, May 4 and be kept current. NO CHARGES will be allowed the rest of the year. If unsure of your child's balance, please contact the cafeteria staff and they will be more than happy to help in this matter.

Summer Enrichment

Summer Enrichment enrollment is now open.  Please see the registration form attached for our list of summer classes that will be offered June 11-29Monday through Thursday from 7:45-11:45.  Fee is $185.00 per child for the entire session.  Lunch (at no additional cost) is provided if needed.  Registration forms must be submitted byMay 11 in order to guarantee your spot.  Please note that you may choose ONE remediation class or TWO enrichment classes and ALL selections must be age appropriate.

* PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN OOEY GOOEY SCIENCE CLASSES.  GRADES 4-6 WILL BE HELD AT 9:45-11:45 AND K-3 WILL BE HELD FROM 7:45-9:45.   


Preschool News

Summer Camp for school age and preschool is now open for enrollment.  Lots of fun activities and field trips are planned for an exciting and education summer. Please submit your application as soon as possible.

Soccer Camp

The North Bay Haven Girl's Soccer team will be hosting their annual summer soccer camp June 4th-7th at Bay Haven Charter Academy from 8:30-11:00. For more information check out the attached flyer!

PRESCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY PARKING

DO NOT ENTER THE PARKING LOT VIA THE GRASS!

 

The parking lot IS NOT for student drop-off. Please do not pull in the parking lot to drop the students off. 

 

The NUMBERED parking spaces are assigned to teachers. Please do not park in any numbered spaces. There are several spaces that are not numbered - those are available for parents to use.

 

 

MEN-tors

NBH MEN-tors program is designed for a dad, or father figure, to be able to come to the school and volunteer for the day. Dads will be given a schedule that will allow them to spend time in their child’s classroom and special areas, along with helping in the lunch room and monitoring hallways. MEN-tors will also be given a free t-shirt and their picture taken with their child to be put on the recognition board. This is a great opportunity to get 8 volunteer hours completed!

Lost and Found

All lost and found items will be given to a benevolent organization on May 24th. Uniform items will be donated to the used uniform closet.
