Recommitments for 2018-19 School Year
Parents, if you have not done so already, please go to the North Bay Haven Elementary website and a pop-up announcement will tell you to click on "read full story" to go to the recommit survey. After completing the re-commitment survey, there is a link under "News and Announcements" to the parent survey.
Recommitments MUST be completed by January 26, at 5pm.
As you all know tomorrow will be a cold one. Our "Rule of Thumb" in regards to cancellations/ delays is that we will follow what the district does. If they cancel or delay we will- if not, then we won't. In terms of dress code, as a reminder, K-8 students are not allowed to wear jeans- rather approved pants/slacks. If your student does not have approved pants/slacks, for tomorrow only, we are allowing your child to wear layers under their shorts/skirts (such as sweat pants, leggings- which are always allowed, etc.). In regards to outerwear, all students need to wear approved NBH outerwear dressed in layers (i.e. wear a sweatshirt or long sleeve t-shirt under a NBH polo.) Students may also wear hat/gloves but need to be taken off once he/she enters the building. Also to protect your children, there will be no outside activities tomorrow during the school day (recess, PE). After school activities, such as soccer, will be decided later tomorrow.
Congratulations to our Royalty Winner, Tyler Cofer! Tyler is a 2nd Grader and has a lot of fun things in store for this week. Tyler, thank you for following the 25 Expectations!

2018-19 Lottery Applications-IMPORTANT
Parents, if you have a child that will be entering Kindergarten, please submit an application for the lottery that will be held in March. The deadline to be included in the lottery is Feb. 28. If submitted after this date, you're child will be placed on the wait list under all students that were part of the lottery, even if they have a sibling attending NBH.
Also, if you have a child that is attending a school other than NBH and you would like them to attend here with their sibling, you MUST submit an application for the 2018-19 school year.
We will continue to have the NBH service road from the dumpster area to the elementary school closed from 7:40 am until 2:00 pm. We appreciate your continued help to ensure the safety of our students. If the road barriers are upDO NOT GO AROUND THEM and DO NOT MOVE THEM! The barriers are strictly for the safety of the children.
Bricks 4 Kids
Happy New Year! Attached is the new flyer for the next two sessions which are accepting enrollments now. TheThursday class for 3rd - 5th grade has a few more meetings in this session so a new flyer for the older students will be coming soon.
NBH MEN-tors program is designed for a dad, or father figure, to be able to come to the school and volunteer for the day. Dads will be given a schedule that will allow them to spend time in their child’s classroom and special areas, along with helping in the lunch room and monitoring hallways. MEN-tors will also be given a free t-shirt and their picture taken with their child to be put on the recognition board. This is a great opportunity to get 8 volunteer hours completed!
Items will be returned to the students if the item has a student's name in/on it. This is very important! PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME IN/ON LUNCHBOXES, WATER BOTTLES, COATS, SWEATSHIRTS, etc. Items without a name in/on them will be kept for one week and then will be donated to an agency that helps others from our area.
There will be PTSP volunteer opportunities coming up soon with carnival just around the corner. Please watch for eblasts and information.
Always be watching for volunteer opportunities and checking with your teachers for opportunities as well.
We will begin our spring drive later this month. I will begin picking up box tops from the front office this week. Please remember to label your box tops with your child's name and teacher's name. Please see the attached flyer for more information. We blew our goal for the school year out of the water already, so let's see what we can do this semester!
Thank you for all you do and your ongoing support!
