Federal Impact Cards will be sent home, Friday, November 3rd  Cards are due to the front office by November 13th!!!!! 

All military members and civilian employees, (including contractors) who are parents or legal guardians of children attending public schools  (including charter schools) in grades K-12 should be on the lookout for the 

To qualify, they must be in one of the following categories:

  1. Have a parent or guardian active in the military (uniformed service);
  2. Live on one of the military bases;
  3. Have a parent who works on one of the military bases - this includes civil service and those who work for military contractors.

Funds received through Federal Impact Aid help off-set the tax revenue that is lost due to the tax exempt status of the federal property located within the school district. Federal Impact Aid is a source of desperately needed funding and other benefits for our local school district.

Veteran's Day Celebration 

Our annual Veteran's Day Celebration is coming up on Nov. 9th. Please make sure to let your child's teacher know the name and address of any family members or family friends who are veterans. We would like to invite them to enjoy the morning with us. The celebration will start at 8:30 and end at 9:45 am.


Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

Please give to the Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive. We’re asking students and staff to bring in at least 2 canned goods per person.  If everyone did that we could donate over 1400 cans of food!




Thanksgiving lunch volunteers!

We need volunteers to assist with preparation, serving, and clean up for the Thanksgiving lunch scheduled on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Please click on the link below to sign up for a shift. This is a great way to serve and help the students and families enjoy a lunch together!

Bricks 4 Kidz New Session Begins November 14th

Hey Buccaneers!

Our next K-2nd, Bricks 4 Kidz session "Engineering Adventures" is open for enrollment.  For more information or to enroll click here


 Session Description:             Engineering Adventures


So you want to be an engineer or architect? Well what are you waiting for? This is your chance. Join us as we put our engineering skills to the test to build bridges, vehicles and more. We'll learn about different types of careers for you to explore. Do you want to build bridges? Then civil engineering might be the job for you. Want to design the next cool electric car? Then you may be destined to become an automotive engineer. Come learn, build and experience engineering adventures with us!

Student Information Changes

If you need to add people to your students check out list, the enrolling parent must come in to the office to make that addition. We cannot do those over the phone. If you need to make an address update, you must bring in 2 proofs of residency to the front office before we can make a change. Again, this must be the enrolling parent.



4th Grade musical on Nov. 7th

The Fourth Grade will present, "We Honor You" on Tuesday, Nov. 7th in the gym.  They should dress in their buccaneer blue polo and a khaki uniform bottom and meet me in the gym at 5:00 p.m. for warm-up and placement.  The show will begin at 5:30 p.m. This is a wonderful musical that honors our veterans and our country.   Please invite any friends or family that are veterans or family of veterans.   This is a graded performance.  A written make-up assignment will be offered for any who are sick and unable to be at the performance on the evening of the 7th.



Movers for Mutts

We are accepting donation for Movers for Mutts, a program to help local animal shelters. They are seeking dish washing soap, liquid laundry detergent, hand soap, bath wipes, paper towels, kitty litter, Purina cat and dog food. This donation will go throughNov. 8th, 2017.



Parking/Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders
Parents, do not drop off or pick up your child in a road- this is not allowedYou must pick up your child or drop him/her off in the designated spot or park. This is a huge safety issue. Also, please drive with patience and focus. Phones should be put away and drive slow. Safety is our number one focus during this time so please help us out. Thank you.



Elementary Yearbooks

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Yearbooks are on sale right now for the cheapest price they'll be all year, $35.  You can buy them online at, or you can bring a check or cash to Ms. Lensink in room 112 (in the high school).  Our yearbooks sell out every year.  Don't miss out! We also have a few copies of the 15/16 and 16/17 Elementary Yearbook available in the Elementary office.




NBH MEN-tors program is designed for a dad, or father figure, to be able to come to the school and volunteer for the day. Dads will be given a schedule that will allow them to spend time in their child’s classroom and special areas, along with helping in the lunch room and monitoring hallways. MEN-tors will also be given a free t-shirt and their picture taken with their child to be put on the recognition board. This is a great opportunity to get 8 volunteer hours completed!

Lost and Found

Lost and found items will be kept in the elementary lunchroom for 1 week. Any item with a name on it will be return to the student. After a week we will donate the unclaimed items to a benevolent organization.

Shop online for books – Want to get some great deals on some fantastic books from the comfort of your home?  You can shop the book fair online using the following link: online book fair will be open October 27th through November 9th.  The books will be delivered to your child’s classroom approximately one week after the fair closes.  

Wear Your Own T-shirt (All For Books):

This year, one of our book fair goals is to ensure as many children as possible receive have access to books. One of the ways we can accomplish this is through the All for Books program. With your help, all donations on the wear your own t-shirt day will be used to purchase books from the fair and will be distributed throughout the school.  Not only does your donation help our cause, but Scholastic Book Fairs® will match all monetary donations with a donation of up to one million dollars in books from The Scholastic Possible Fund which distributes books to children in need through organizations such as Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. and Kids In Need Foundation.


Donuts with Dad at the Book Fair:

Donuts with Dad will be run by our MEN-tors this year.  Dads please join us for coffee and donuts while you help your kids shop for some great books.  If you are interested in learning more about the MEN-tor program, this is a great opportunity to talk to some of the dads that are involved in this amazing program just for dads on our elementary campus.  


Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Getaway – Order the soon to be released Dairy of a Wimpy Kid book paperback addition for only $8.99!  The book will arrive at school 5-7 days after its release on November 7th.  See attached flier.  




Hello Buccaneer parents! 

I want to thank ALL OF YOU for your submissions of Box Tops for the fall drive. We set a goal of $1,000 FOR THE YEAR and we have exceeded that! This is money that will come directly to the school and we will receive all of the funds from this. 


I also want to thank the parents and students who offered to help during this drive. It was a huge help! 


We submitted 12,460 box tops and we have earned $1,246!!!


BOX TOPS SUBMISSION WINNER: MRS. THERRIEN'S CLASS!! Congratulations to Mrs. Therrien's class for their submission of 891 box tops!!! 





Please be looking for volunteer opportunities! This is a busy time of year with fall parties and Christmas parties around the corner. Be sure to ask your teachers if there is anything you can assist with as well! There are a cornucopia of opportunities out there!!
