Before we are able to allow people to volunteer, we need to have a volunteer form completed, along with a copy of a drivers license. Please make sure that anyone volunteering, to include family members or friends, completes this two weeks before the planned activity. You can obtain a volunteer form from the front office.
NBH MEN-tors program is designed for a dad, or father figure, to be able to come to the school and volunteer for the day. Dads will be given a schedule that will allow them to spend time in their child’s classroom and special areas, along with helping in the lunchroom and monitoring hallways. MEN-tors will also be given a free t-shirt and their picture taken with their child to be put on the recognition board. This is a great opportunity to get 8 volunteer hours completed.

Approved Outer Wear
Remember students are not allowed to wear non-approved outerwear. As hot as it has been lately I can’t believe we’re talking about jackets, but classrooms are sometimes cool and students want a jacket or sweater. These items must be school approved. Students can also wear long-sleeved shirts under their polos, but right now that’s not a great option because they need to be able to take the long sleeves off when going to PE or recess. We have a few jackets for sale in the clothes closet. Come in and check them out. Cool weather is on the horizon though, so go ahead and place your order at Zoghby’s or Tommy Hilfiger. Reach out to Mrs. Chapman or your child’s teacher if getting a jacket for your child will be a financial hardship for you. We understand that many of you are still working on recovery from Michael.
Communication at NBHCA
Good communication is very important to us. We use four main sources to communicate news. First, and most important is our website at bayhaven.org. It is here you will find teacher websites, email addresses, and the school calendar that is updated daily and includes all events. The other forms of communication are weekly e-blasts, the North Bay Haven Charter Academy Facebook page, and Remind (messaging app).
Be sure to check the school Calendar frequently! Changes to scheduled activities are made frequently.
